LEAVES' EYES: First 'Meredead' Tour Video Blog Posted Online - May 18, 2011

LEAVES' EYES — the German/Norwegian band formed by ex- THEATRE OF TRAGEDY singer Liv Kristine Espenaes Krull and members of ATROCITY — has posted the first in a series of video reports from the group's current European tour with MIDNATTSOL and SERENITY . Check it out below.

LEAVES' EYES ' latest album, "Meredead" , entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 32. Released on April 22 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland via Napalm Records , the effort was made available exclusively as limited-edition mediabook CD, including bonus track and bonus DVD "Live At The Metal Female Voices Fest" , strictly limited-edition deluxe box set and regular jewel case. The deluxe box set (pictured below) is limited to 1,000 copies and includes the mediabook CD including bonus track and bonus DVD, "Live At The Metal Female Voices Fest" , plus pendant (Celtic cross with LEAVES' EYES branding).

Producer/co-vocalist Alexander Krull mixed "Meredead" at Mastersound Studio . The album's artwork was created by Stefan Heilemann and can be viewed below.

LEAVES' EYES recently spent time in Gothenburg, Sweden filming a video for its cover of the MIKE OLDFIELD classic "To France" with director Patric Ullaeus of Revolver Film Company , who has previously worked with DIMMU BORGIR , LACUNA COIL , IN FLAMES , SONIC SYNDICATE and KAMELOT , among others.

The CD Jewel case is the standard case used by majority of the musicians and it is the most common type of case found in record and movie stores. The CD jewel case is made of plastic and usually comes in back and white tray. The tray of the CD case features a ‘claw’ or ‘teeth’ that securely holds the CD in place. There are many reasons why the CD case remains the number one option for musicians. Here are some of them:

The CD Jewel Case is very secureAs I’ve mentioned, the CD jewel case has a tight and firm grip of the CD because of the tray’s teeth or lock. Because of this, you are assured that even if the CD jewel case is turned upside-down, left, or right, the CD is intact. This is the kind of assurance that other cases can’t give. There are some cases which could get a bit too flimsy and loose that the CDs would start peeping out. Also, since the Jewel case is made of plastic, it is sturdier compared to cardboard paper or foams. When you accidentally sit on the CD jewel case, the case will break first before the CD. If you have a case that’s made of thin cardboard, there is a bigger chance that the CD would break or get damaged because the weight is directly directed to it.

Easy storageThe CD jewel case is probably the easiest, most organized way to store CDs. The type of material of the CD jewel case allows us to store CDs for decades without us worrying that it would ruin the CDs. We cannot say the same thing with other cases since paper can stick to the CDs due to air humidity and other factors. The more organized people also love CD jewel cases because they look more clean and orderly on the CD shelf. Since the CD jewel case has been around for a very long time, there are many CD shelves, racks, and other products in the market that are made for CD jewel cases.
