CMYK Color Chart: What is it? | CMYK Color Chart
People who are working in the publishers or printing companies must be familiar with the term CMYK color chart. CMYK is an abbreviation of cyan (a type of blue color), magenta (a type of pink color), yellow, and black. These four colors are called as process color in the four-color management system of CMYK. The printer which is used CMYK as the ink color proportion usually has better saturation than the printer which is used RGB as the adjustment. In the same case, if you try to create an image using the CMYK tone, the result of the color will be more various than the RGB one. Basically, the four colors in CMYK system is used as the based color to make the other mixed color. Printer considers this kind of color mixing as an effective and efficient way to create many colors with only few based colors. By using CMYK color chart process, the screening will give less than full saturation of all based colors. The right proportion of color mixing will result specific color. If, for example, the magenta is set to be printed with 15% screen, the result will be pink. The CMYK color chart help people predict and foreseen the result of the color they want to get after passing the halftoning or screening process.
In comparison with the other color model like RGB (red, green, blue) the CMYK is a subtractive model. The RGB is the additive model, which give less quality saturation compared with the result of CMYK setting. So, with CMYK color based, you full color pages will get more colorful result with better saturation and color details. Use the CMYK color chart to help you decide the right proportion of four colors you should mix. Get the better color to make better piece of art or graphic designs.
